While you are at the panel, look for signs of rust or rodents. Are circuit breakers corroded? If you see visible wiring, is it free from cracks or other damage?

Inadequate Outlets

Outlets in the kitchen or bath that are likely to be exposed to water should be ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected. (Look for “test” and “reset” buttons in the middle of the outlet.) To do this, divide the loan’s interest rate by 365 and multiply that number by the principal amount. Then multiply the resulting number by the number of days in your billing cycle.
